Camps Available to Pack 210 Scouts

We are pleased to announce that there are several Scout Summer Camps available to your children. These are quality programs that have been proven throughout the years. Some camps are available for the whole family!

All Registration forms are available at www.bsa-mdsc.org. Then go to activities -then registration.  Camp Royaneh has it's own contact information posted.

1. Iron Horse Cub Scout Day Camp
Date: To Be Announced
Place: Castle Rock Park
Cost: To Be Determined

Boys who attend will earn their badges/pins/belt loops and spend days with old friends and make many new ones, with this year's theme, Cub Construction.

Day Camp Needs You! The Iron Horse Day Camp has no paid staff – we rely upon you, the parents, to help. To assure that all participants share equally in the responsibility to staff camp, each Pack must provide one full-time volunteer (or the equivalent) for every four campers registered. The names of registered volunteers and campers will be provided to the Day Camp Coordinator (or Cubmaster) of each Pack so they can assure the Volunteer:Camper ratio is satisfied. All adults need to be registered with the BSA, and have current youth protection. If you need youth protection, please update your training.

Being an Adult Helper is a fun and rewarding experience. All full-time volunteers will receive a $95 refund for the first Cub Scout attending camp. Are you not able to volunteer all five days? Adult Helper's who are not able to volunteer the entire camp will receive a $20 refund a day. We appreciate our Adult Helpers very much and will have special treats during camp just for you!

Wanted Jr. Helpers: We are also looking for lots of mature enthusiastic youth (boys & girls ages 12 to 18) to serve as Jr. Helpers. This is a great opportunity for youth to earn valuable leadership experience. Jr. Helpers teach scout skills, assist in crafts, lead field games or help with the “TAG” program. This is not a paid position, but rather an opportunity to acquire service hours and leadership skills.

Medical Form

For all Scouts who have completed the 3rd and 4th grade.

Cost: To Be Determined

3. Camp Wolfboro Webelos Weekends:

What is Webelos Weekend?

Webelos Weekend is the portal into Boy Scout resident camping. Both weekends are held at Camp Wolfeboro, the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council Boy Scout Camp located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is an opportunity to give your Webelos a chance to see what Boy Scout summer camp is like. The Scouts and their parents (no siblings) show up at 5:00pm Friday night at the top of the hill where they meet the camp truck. The road into camp is DEFINITELY A 4X4 ROAD and should not be attempted by family vehicles. Meals will start on Saturday with breakfast and end with breakfast on Sunday. Families are encouraged to eat dinner on the way up to camp Friday night.

Friday night, after the Wolfeboro staff show you to your assigned campsite, the Webelos are invited to come and join the Boy Scout campfire for a night of songs, skits and brotherhood. Saturday will be kicked off with morning flags followed by breakfast. After that the Scouts will have the opportunity to go to all of the camp program areas and participate in the activities. Camp Wolfeboro runs on an open schedule, which means that your Scouts are welcome to go to any area during program time and participate. All of the Scouts are welcome to stay in any program area as long as they like; however we do recommended that they try and visit every area so they can get an idea of all Camp Wolfeboro has to offer.

The program areas that will be open are Scout Craft (Scout Skills), the Nature Lodge, our Climbing Wall, Handicraft, Archery, BB Guns, Swimming, Row Boating, Canoeing and let's not forget the evening CAMPFIRES!

Saturday will be wrapped up with a campfire devoted solely to the Webelos. Have your Scouts bring up ideas for skits and songs. We would love to have them perform in our campfire, but remember they must be Scouting appropriate!

After breakfast on Sunday the Webelos will be given an opportunity to pack up their gear and load it on the camp truck. Check out time will be 10:00am Sunday morning.

Please go to our website to register at: www.bsa-mdsc.org - go to: activities - then Registration for all logistics.

What Do Boys Want From Scouting

When a boy becomes a member of the Boy Scouts of America, no matter at what age, one of the first questions is "How soon can I go camping?"

Cub Scouting offers a variety of outdoor program opportunities that include day camping, family camping and Webelos Weekends. Each program provides different values.

Camping and outdoor activities fulfill a boy's dreams of fun, excitement and adventure. They provide a natural setting for quality time with family and friends. Modern council camps with top qualified staff provide an ideal setting for these activities.

What Is Cub Scout Camping?

The Mt. Diablo Silverado Council offers first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade Cub Scouts the opportunity to experience the FUN and ADVENTURE of the out-of-doors, to learn by doing and to earn advancement in a controlled and safe environment. We provide a safe-haven for your son.

What Is Cub Family Camping?

Cub Scout and Webelos Scout Family camping is a council organized, theme-oriented overnight camping program. It operates for at least two nights and is conducted under certified leadership at a camp approved by the council.

Who Can Attend?

Now the whole family is invited to attend Cub Scout Family Camping. Anyone in the family may attend any of the Cub Scout Family Camps we offer that are located at Camp Lindblad, as long as there is one registered Cub Scout in the family. Siblings under the age of 5 are only $15.00 and must be accompanied by an adult.

The Webelos Weekends at Camp Wolfeboro are limited to Webelos and their parents. This camp will give a more rustic camping experience to both parents and Webelos, with the feel of what to expect when they move up to a Boy Scout Troop.
